Anushtubh

Anushtubh is the most common meter in the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana. It consists of 4 quarters (padas) of 8 syllables each, totaling 32 syllables. The 5th syllable of each quarter is usually short, the 6th long, and the 7th alternately long and short.
