ഊര്ധ്വം ഗച്ഛന്തി സത്ത്വസ്ഥാ മധ്യേ തിഷ്ഠന്തി രാജസാഃ | ജഘന്യഗുണവൃത്തിസ്ഥാ അധോ ഗച്ഛന്തി താമസാഃ ||൧൪-൧൮||
Transliteration
ūrdhvaṃ gacchanti sattvasthā madhye tiṣṭhanti rājasāḥ . jaghanyaguṇavṛttisthā adho gacchanti tāmasāḥ ||14-18||
Meanings
14.18 Those who rest in Sattva rise upwards; those who abide in Rajas remain in the middle; and those, abiding in the tendencies of Tamas go downwards. - Adi
