ఊర్ధ్వం గచ్ఛన్తి సత్త్వస్థా మధ్యే తిష్ఠన్తి రాజసాః | జఘన్యగుణవృత్తిస్థా అధో గచ్ఛన్తి తామసాః ||౧౪-౧౮||
Transliteration
ūrdhvaṃ gacchanti sattvasthā madhye tiṣṭhanti rājasāḥ . jaghanyaguṇavṛttisthā adho gacchanti tāmasāḥ ||14-18||
Meanings
14.18 Those who rest in Sattva rise upwards; those who abide in Rajas remain in the middle; and those, abiding in the tendencies of Tamas go downwards. - Adi
